Partnerships

Community engagement is one of the VCU Health Hub at 25th’s guiding values. We were founded and are maintained through partnerships between entities within VCU and VCU Health.

Below are some of the ways that we engage with Richmond's East End.

Community Ambassadors

The VCU Health Hub at 25th Ambassador (HHA) Program is a group of East End residents with diverse backgrounds, lived experiences and perspectives who serve as liaisons between the VCU Health Hub at 25th and the greater East End community. In order to meet the hub's mission—to provide equitable services, mutually-beneficial programming and high-impact research to improve the health and wellbeing of the East End community—it is imperative to include community residents as valued members of the team.

HHAs serve as “champions'' for the hub in their local community and circles of influence. They will support and promote the VCU Health Hub at 25th mission, vision and goals while encouraging their family, friends and neighbors to attend programming and events at the VCU Health Hub at 25th. Ambassadors will work to build trust between the VCU Health Hub at 25th and the community through transparency and authentic engagement. HHAs will also provide valued insight towards identifying community needs and improving the Ambassador model as we move forward. Ambassadors will be able to influence their own learning and skills development through training sessions and leadership opportunities.
